Have you ever stopped to understand why
all of these self help books refer to affirmations as one of the
first steps toward your prosperous future? Just what is it that those
affirmations do for you? What is it that makes them tick? And why
should I be embarrassing myself in front of a mirror every morning to
do them?
Think of the grouchiest person that you
have ever known. How did people react to him? Did they clench their
teeth and try to get through with their business with him as fast as
possible? I am pretty sure that they did not come over to bring him
flowers and offer him a nice sales position at their new store. You
get back what you give. That is the way this mystical “law” of
attraction works.
Now think about the nicest person that
you have ever met. Did people flock to her? Did they want to be
around her? Would they not do ANYTHING for her? Of course they would,
because people like nice people. And what she gave out, she got in
return. This is a perfect example of this law of attraction.
It is no big secret, there is no secret
handshake for those to understand and profit from this law, but you
do need to follow the rules.
RULE #1
Try to be positive in all situations. I
know, if someone was doing something bad to a member of my family,
being positive is not what I would be thinking about. But in most
situations you should always be trying to find the peaceful, happy
ending. Give what you want to receive.
Rule #2
Think positive thoughts. This rule is a
helper to Rule #1. Thinking positively keeps your focus on it, making
it easier to do it. It will be fresh in your mind if you are making a
conscious effort to think about it.
Rule #3
Take risks. You will never accomplish
anything different, if you never try anything new. Remember the old
adage: “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and
over again and expecting different results.” Break out of your
comfort zone and try something different. Start small, and move up
into more difficult and trying tasks. And keep in mind Rule #4:
Rule #4
Expect and embrace failure. You will
not always come out on top. You are not supposed to! What separates
the very successful form the meagerly average is how they deal with
failure. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and analyze what went
wrong. Is it something that you could have done differently? Where
you doing it in the wrong place? At the wrong time? If you let it get
you down you will never learn to get better. You will never hit a
home run if you don't swing the bat.
Rule #5
Remember the golden rule. Do unto
others as you'd have them do unto you. It's that easy. I believe this
to be the most important rule of all of them. Even if you feel
cheated, if you return with respect and character it will be noted
and reciprocated. Maybe not by whoever wronged you, maybe not in a
manner that you think, but it will return and you will be rewarded.
Now, of course this can work the other way just as easily. If you happen to be the grump at work, or the jerk on the road, or the coworker with nothing nice to say - you will attract what you send out.
I hope this finds you in good spirits,
and I wish you an awesome day!
